It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joshua Ashton, who left this world far too soon at the age of 18. Joshua’s time with us was brief, but his impact on those who knew and loved him will last forever.
Joshua Ashton was born on April 7, 2006 to Frederick and Shawntay Ashton in Spring, Texas. Shortly after, he and his family moved to The Woodlands, Texas. Joshua accepted Christ at an early age and attended Woodlands Church. Born with a courageous spirit and a kind heart, Joshua was a son, a brother, a friend, and a source of joy to so many. He had a bright smile that could light up a room and a laugh that was utterly contagious. Whether through his love of sports, reading, or simply spending time with those he cherished, Joshua brought warmth and kindness wherever he went.
Joshua was a graduate of The Woodlands High School where he was an offensive lineman wearing (#63) with the Highlanders Football Team. He was also a member of The Woodlands High School Powerlifting Team where he holds the school record in the 308lb Weight Class, with 1515lb total weight (2024).
He attended Texas Tech University as a pre-med student where he was studying to become a dermatologist. Joshua continued his love for powerlifting with the Matador Powerlifting Team by earning second place in his first USA Powerlifting meet.
Joshua’s family and friends will remember him for his generosity, his unwavering loyalty, and his ability to make others feel seen and valued. His dreams were vast, his potential limitless, and his memory will be carried on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Our beloved Joshua went to be with the Lord on February 19, 2025. Joshua is survived by his loving parents, Frederick and Shawntay his sister, Ashley, and brothers Luke and Austin; a host of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, teachers, and teammates who will miss him deeply. Though Joshua’s journey was cut short, his love, laughter, and the beautiful moments he shared will never fade.
Rest easy, Joshua. You are deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
