Dorothy Helen Praus was born 9/4/1933 to Louis and Margaret Esperanza in Kensington Maryland where she was raised. She dedicated her life to God and was Baptized and raise din the Baptist Chruch all her life.  Her father was in the Navy so they traveled around to various bases. She went to the University of Maryland where she met her husband William J Praus, he was a Drummer and she was a Majorette and they fell in love. She was a Sorority Sister with Alpha Delta Phi and her husband was with the Fraternity Delta Tau Delta as they had many dates together as well as going to Ball's. She was an avid Archer in College as well as a Wedding Cake Designer and Model for a top clothing line Peck and Peck which is still around today. When they got married which was 10/20/1954 they were married on her husband's Birthday and were together for 60 years. When he graduated they moved to Japan and where they were stationed. They traveled around the world and settled at Vandenberg AFB where they retired. She was a Red Cross Volunteer and Den Mother while stationed at VAFB. They had 3 children Karen Elaine Duncan (husband Eric Duncan), Mark Steven Praus (Wife Anita Praus) and William Jacob Praus (Wife Laureen Praus). They also had 3 Grandchildren Andrew Jacob Praus, Kristin Marie Praus and Jordan Tyler Praus from Mark & Anita Praus. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Margaret Esperanza, her Grandmother Carrie Turk, and her Sister Louise Winslow. She leaves behind 2 Nieces Jan Winslow and Jerri Winslow Sponik and (Husband Chris Sponik) and Nephew Jon Winslow (Wife Connie Winslow) and Great Nephew Tyler Winslow. Dottie enjoyed Knitting, Artist,-Painting playing the Organ and Piano, Square Dancing with her husband, Traveling Europe and Cruising and was an avid Horsewoman. She also was a Travel Agent for 30 years for mutilple NASA Astronauts which she dearly enjoyed.   She was a Fighter, Kind, Loving and compassionate lady and she loved and cared for her family and friends very much. She will be greatly missed by so many. Her memory will live on in everyone she touched. She is together once again with her husband Bill Praus and in the arms of God. IS 40:31 "Those that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, run and not be weary, walk and not faint" Amen.

Pastor Mack Praytor Retired Colonel and Joint Command Chaplain, Texas Military Department will officiate the ceremony and give the eulogy.

"Amazing Grace" will be sung by fellow Bay Area Chorus of Greater Houston members: Allison Hall & Glen Sherwood and Keith Abernathy will accompany them on guitar

Donations may be made to the Masonic Lodge of Seabrook AF & AM 1417, Shriners Burn Institute of Galveston  or Wounded Warriors Project in her name.

For everyone to meet at the Veteran's Cemetery at 0930 in Lane 1 and we will proceed from there.
