PROVERBS 31:10
Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.
The Loving Legacy of Queen Anna
Anna Jackson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was born in Houston, TX, on September 7, 1951, to Edgar and Ophelia Clark. Raised on the North Side of Houston in the close-knit community of Shenic Woods, Anna developed a love for family and friendship early on. She graduated in the Class of 1970 from Jack Yates High School, where she made lifelong friends and cherished memories.
From a young age, Anna’s playful spirit was evident in her love for volleyball, games of jacks, and checkers, where her competitive side would often shine. Her love for community and children grew into a lifelong calling, leading her to a career as a nurse assistant, a role she passionately held for over 20 years. Anna’s kindness, patience, and care were felt by everyone she served. Even after retiring, her nurturing spirit continued as she enjoyed babysitting and volunteering in the church nursery, finding joy in every child’s smile and giggle.
Anna was also known for her sense of style and love of fashion. Whether heading to church, a family gathering, or just shopping, she dressed with a unique flair that inspired everyone around her. Her eclectic taste in music was another source of joy, filling her home with songs that brought back memories and connected generations.
Beyond her career and style, Anna’s passions were simple yet meaningful—she found peace in decorating her home, journaling her thoughts, and, most importantly, being surrounded by her loved ones. Family was her anchor, and she never missed an opportunity to share her wisdom and positivity, even during life’s most challenging moments. She embodied resilience, always encouraging others to find joy in every day.
Anna was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost at Apostolic Tabernacle on May 11, 2003 and later attended The Church of Humble, where her faith grew, and she found
comfort in fellowship with others. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and love.
Anna’s memory will be cherished by her two daughters, Shawnita Ellis and Nekita Rawlins; three sisters, Annie Curtis, Sherry Moy, and Beverly Clark; one brother, Phillip Clark; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and everyone whose lives she touched.
Her laughter, wisdom, and warmth will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
